Pleioblastus Distichus ‘Dwarf Fernleaf Bamboo’
Pleioblastus Distichus is a charming compact dwarf bamboo often seen in Japanese gardens. It resembles a palm or fern in appearance, with its tough, bright green leaves fanning out in neatly-arranged groups. Pleioblastus Distichus makes an excellent specimen plant for display in a courtyard or patio where its distinctive foliage can be displayed to the best advantage. As one of the smallest dwarf bamboos, Pleioblastus Distichus has been used for bonsai. However, its main application is for providing ground-cover owing to its tendency to spread over the ground like a carpet and its ability to grow in the shade.
